Students using the Be Real Game in grades 9 and 10 will begin to learn how courses and extracurricular
activities directly relate to future life and work roles, and how furthering
knowledge and skills opens doors to new opportunities. The simulated society
created throughout the program challenges students' Life/Work roles with a
variety of contemporary job change factors.
As students 'grapple' with these factors, they evolve into new Life/Work
roles, different from the ones they began.
New Practical Guide for Facilitators
Lauren Wilson, Secondary Initiatives Leader, Renfrew County District School Board has forwarded a "Getting Started Guide" for The Be Real Game written by Marshall McLaughlin. Marshall says, "The Be Real Game is an excellent resource to help you teach Careers. Though the kit comes with clear instructions and lesson plans, the game is elaborate enough to make your first run confusing. Preparing the following resources will help make the process run smoothly." |
